Temperatures will rise as the heat wave finally reaches Stoke-on-Trent

We have been waiting for summer to start for a long time, with temperatures although May and early June remain stubbornly cold. But the weather has started to improve and by Friday, it looks like things will have warmed up considerably.

Forecasters say that the UK could be the warmest June in history, with temperatures reaching 32 ºC in some areas, warmer than Hawaii, where it will be a modest 29 ºC. The heat wave is reduced to a “Spanish feather” that will bring the tropical climate to our shores, they say.

The Met Office expects a dry week with warm, sunny periods and much lighter winds than we saw over the weekend. In Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle, it will be a pleasant 19ºC on Tuesday. As the Spanish plumage arrives on Wednesday, it will heat up constantly, with mercury reaching 26 degrees on Friday, June 17th. It will be a little colder in the moorland at 25 degrees Celsius.

Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “The heat is accumulating all over Spain and this heat is entering France and the far north is starting to influence next week. In addition, there is some instability on the northern shore this week, so there is a possibility that some storms will move from the mainland. “

The warm weather forecast is the remnants of the former tropical storm Alex bringing warm, humid air to the UK.

Bookmakers offer a 3-1, as the monthly average could be the hottest ever. The south of the UK will have the warmest temperatures. The hottest days of June were 35.6 ºC, recorded in 1957 and 1976.
