The long-awaited launch of the new Earth blockchain took place today, as planned. The network has produced its first block and additional services are expected to be up and running soon.
- The Terra team took to Twitter today to reveal that the new chain has been officially launched and is already producing blogs.
Block 1 of the new Terra blockchain (with a chain_id of “Phoenix-1”) was officially produced at 06:00 AM UTC on May 28, 2022!
- The team also revealed that currently users can do “multiple things” with their liquid MOON, such as betting on their favorite validators, earning rewards, participating in government decisions, and so on.
- It is also worth noting that this is a new blockchain and not a fork, so the decentralized applications of the classic chain should be relaunched to the new one.
- That said, one of the most pressing questions many people ask is whether centralized exchanges and service providers will support air launch.
- There are many platforms that have already announced that they will do so, and these include, but are not limited to: Huobi, Binance, KuCoin, Bitrue, FTX, Bitfinex, GateIO, ByBit, Nexo, etc.
- It is worth noting that the headlines will now receive a portion of their airdrop, and the rest will be granted for a specified period of time.
