Tesla reported its first sequential drop in quarterly earnings in more than a year as it recovers from a prolonged shutdown at its Shanghai assembly plant.

The electric car maker reported second-quarter revenue of $ 16.9 billion on Wednesday, down from $ 18.8 billion in the first quarter. Analysts expected Tesla to report about $ 16.5 billion in sales.
