A 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 22B with an interesting history is auctioned again, months after it was sold by the federal government.
The rare Impreza WRX STI 22B is arguably the most desirable Subaru ever produced, with only 425 units manufactured by the Japanese brand, inspired by the wide-body World Rally Car produced by Prodrive.
This particular 22B, building number 132, is being auctioned off by Collecting Cars just seven months after the vehicle was sold as “crime products” by Liquid Asset Management in Sydney on behalf of the Australian Financial Security Authority.

Despite the curious history, it is understood that the Subaru was sold for more than $ 300,000 plus the buyer’s premium, before being moved to the suburb of Berwick in Melbourne.
According to the latest listing, the 22B has traveled just five miles in the past seven months.
Although this vehicle is believed to have been personally imported in 2008, Subaru only sold five new ones in Australia, but owners had to wait months to legally drive their cars on the road, and the local arm of the company had to obtain a special permit from his vehicle. central office to spend money complying with vehicles to meet local standards.
