Hangar 13 is developing a new mafia game. In an interview with the developer for the original game’s 20th anniversary, CEO Roman Hladík revealed an upcoming game in the Mafia franchise.
“I’m excited to confirm that we’ve started work on a brand new mob project!” Hladík said. “While we’re several years away and can’t share anything else right now, we’re very excited to continue working on this beloved franchise and entertain our players with new stories.”
The original mob game came out in 2002 and follows a fictional crime family in a city based in Chicago in the 1930s. Later mafia games also followed different crime families in different fictional cities in different time periods. All three games were remastered and re-released in 2020. After this remaster, Hangar 13 began work on a new project, which was codenamed Volt and was supposed to feature superheroes competing in the online game The game was canceled by Take-Two interactive in 2021.
The next Mafia project is no longer useful.
