The art will be combined with the Okanagan Rail Trail next weekend.

Opus Kelowna and the Okanagan Northern Arts Council join forces for the Rail Trail Plein Air event on June 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Between mile zero on Coldstream and Lake Country, artists will explore the path along Kalamalka Lake and look for a place to paint during the day.

The event is free and open to all ages and abilities.

Participants will bring their own art materials in any medium they wish, and at the end of the day, artists will gather at the Vernon Community Arts Center at Vernon’s Polson Park next to the Okanagan Science Center to display its finished and / or unfinished parts. .

Everyone is welcome to attend the free meeting.

Prizes for those wishing to participate in the jury process will be awarded in three groups: Experienced Artists, Emerging Artists and Audience Choice.

Early registration can be done online or participants can register at the VCAC on the morning of the event, before heading to the route.

All entrants will receive a detailed information pack containing event scheduling, map links, general rules and route etiquette, and instructions on how to participate in the jury process.
