Climate radical group Blockade Australia has canceled its organized protests in NSW.
Activists spent Monday and Tuesday protesting at the CBD in Sydney, causing major disruptions and causing multiple arrests, and members of the group fled police on Wednesday after officers took their picnic in Tempe.
“We have made the difficult decision to end the mobilization and wait until next time when we are bigger and stronger,” they told the Telegram messaging platform via the Blockade Australia: Resist Climate Inaction channel on Thursday.

“We ask people to continue to take disruptive climate action in the way they can.”
NSW Prime Minister Dominic Perrottet has called the activists “bloody idiots”, saying their actions did not help their cause.
The group thanked those who had participated in the interruptions on Monday and Tuesday.
“We have suffered extreme state repression. It has challenged our plans and further exposed what Australia will do to protect its own interests. We are tired, but not broken, and moved by all solidarity and support.” said the message.
Protesters disrupting major roads, ports and railroads could face up to two years in prison and a $ 22,000 fine.
A total of 32 people have been arrested since NSW police established the Strike Force Guard in March to prevent, investigate and stop unauthorized protests.
