Gabriel Moreno is about to officially start his career in the Major League.
The Toronto Blue Jays have announced they will call their best prospect ahead of Saturday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
As a corresponding play, receiver Zack Collins has been sent to the triple A Buffalo.
Moreno has played in 35 games this season at the Triple-A Buffalo and has averaged .323 with a home run and 23 RBIs.
The 22-year-old is the fifth Major League Baseball prospect according to Baseball America.
The native of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, was signed by the Blue Jays in August 2016.
