The flag of the City Council is silent

The Canadian flag will not fly proudly in town hall during the most patriotic weekend.
In a brief statement from City Hall, officials say the flags will not be flown during the long Canada Day weekend due to an unfortunate break in the mechanism that raises and lowers flags.
“The specialized service to repair the flagpole lifting mechanism is provided by a Vancouver company that was unable to reach the repair in time for Canada Day. Repairs are expected to take place next week.” indicates a brief press release.
“Kelowna City Council has wanted to make sure residents and visitors were aware that this repair is being carried out and that the flag will be displayed in its proper place as soon as possible.”
