A car in Chicago jumped a curb Friday night and injured five people who were having dinner outside a restaurant in the city’s downtown neighborhood, according to police.
The suspect was driving a silver Lexus sedan and tried to pass a white Toyota Prius traveling in the same direction, but cut the Prius and lost control, causing the car to jump over the curb. Police responded to the crash around 10:30 p.m.
Police said the Lexus hit several people who were having dinner in the restaurant’s outdoor courtyard, who are between 24 and 32 years old and are considered to be in good or normal condition.
When the car stopped, the driver fled the scene, according to police.

The driver of the Prius involved in the incident was not injured and denied medical attention, according to police.
