Sega has unveiled a new Sonic Frontiers trailer, which includes our first look at the game’s open world action; look at it below.

Announced in December, Sonic Frontiers wants to take on the influence of Breath Of The Wild while Sonic Team seeks to renew the franchise.
According to the announcement, Sonic Frontiers is set in the Starfall Islands and will feature powerful enemies, dense forests, waterfalls and deserts for the player to explore in the open world.
“Sonic Frontiers is a big leap forward for the franchise, offering an evolved gaming experience that can be enjoyed by both long-time Sonic fans and action and adventure enthusiasts,” said Takashi Iizuka, creative director of Sonic Team USA.
“With the efforts of the talented developers of Sonic Team Japan, we have created a whole new style of gaming experience for Sonic The Hedgehog, where players will be able to explore lush and expansive landscapes with the speed and skills characteristic of Sonic.”
Sonic Frontiers was originally scheduled to be released in 2021, but the team delayed it to ensure the quality of the title. The game has no release date yet, although news is expected “soon.”
Sega has also said it is aiming for high review scores after the recent main line Sonic the hedgehog the games had average reviews.
