The cold front that caused a “polar explosion” of freezing temperatures and 90-kilometer winds in the NSW this week is expected to pass on Thursday, with warmer temperatures over the weekend, although meteorologists expect another Antarctic front pick up on Sunday.
On Wednesday, strong winds blew across Southeast Australia, causing severe weather warnings across NSW and Victoria, but had been reduced to 5pm.

Although the winds will be milder inland on Thursday, the office has warned of strong sea winds and dangerous surfing conditions from Coffs Harbor to Ulladulla, with waves between 3 and 4 meters high on the coast. of NSW.
Meteorologist Ben Domensino said the cold front responsible for the wild wind that hit the state this week will be replaced by a warmer front that should take a calmer time before it is quickly followed by another front. intense cold.
“The next one will arrive in South Australia on Friday and move up past Victoria, ACT and NSW on Sunday, causing another attack of harmful winds and cold air,” Domensino said.
Although it may seem colder than usual, Domensino said the temperature was not below average in winter, it had only dropped earlier due to the rapid succession of cold fronts.
“Two strong cold fronts with only a week to go at the beginning of winter are quite uncommon.”
