After the wettest fall in NSW, the first day of winter has caused another snowfall in parts of the state, causing the snowy mountain ski resorts to start. season before.
Perisher Ski Resort announced on Tuesday that it would open on Saturday after the snow-capped mountains recorded up to 20 inches of snow on Monday. Half a meter of snow also fell during Tuesday night.

Sydney has received 1,530.6 millimeters of rain in the last five months, surpassing the previous record of 1,327.8 millimeters since 1990. It is the wettest year on record in Sydney, with data dating back to 1859.
Meteorologist Ben Domensino said the cold front responsible for the wild wind that hit the state this week was expected to happen on Thursday.
It will be replaced by a warmer front that should take a quieter time before it is quickly followed by another intense cold front this weekend.
“The next one will arrive in South Australia on Friday and move up past Victoria, ACT and NSW on Sunday, causing another attack of harmful winds and cold air,” Domensino said.

Although it may seem colder than usual, Domensino said the temperature was not below average in winter, it had only dropped earlier due to the rapid succession of cold fronts.
“Two strong cold fronts just a week apart at the start of winter are pretty weird,” he said after claiming that NSW ski resorts normally had to start the season making their own snow.
