The confrontation in East Hill is resolved without incident

During what appeared to be a confrontation, officers were heard telling someone inside presumably that they were detained and that if they followed the instructions, they would not be injured.

Police also reported that they had an order to search the property and encouraged the person they were looking for to get out with their hands in the air.

The incident attracted a crowd of spectators, but police set up a large perimeter around the area.

In the early afternoon, Robert Bratvold, Sask’s Director of Education. Rivers School Division, confirmed that schools in the area were in “perimeter blockade”, meaning that classes continued as usual, but the children did not go out to play. He said there was no threat to any school and that the measure was taken as a precaution.

This is a developing story. paNOW you will have more information as it becomes available.
