The Cranbury Terrace murder investigation fell through when the man was released without charge

A Southampton MAN has been released without charge after being arrested as part of a murder investigation.

The 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a 30-year-old man died after a disturbance outside a house on Cranbury Terrace.

Police rushed to the scene at 3.58 a.m. Wednesday and found a man on the ground seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A large police presence was detected on the street today while police investigations continued.

There was a large police cordon.

However, police have now confirmed that the detained man has been released and no further action will be taken against him.

He has received a conditional sanction for assaulting an emergency worker.

This is an incident involving an arrest officer after he was arrested this Wednesday.

A police spokesman added: “We now believe the 30-year-old man died as a result of an injury at the scene which did not involve any third party, and a case is being prepared for the coroner.”
