Medical evacuation helicopter in shock

Photos from readers of the scene of the crash that closed Highway 97 in Peachland show a heavily damaged vehicle that appears to be an SUV.
The black vehicle has serious damage to what appears to be the driver’s side, and the SUV is nose down in the ditch of some trees in the pictures taken shortly after the crash.
UPDATE: 6:30 p.m.
Witnesses report seeing a medical evacuation helicopter at the scene of an accident in Peachland that closed Highway 97.
The helicopter was seen landing around 6 a.m. on Princeton Avenue, where the incident has closed the road in both directions.
The nature of the collision and the injuries involved are currently unknown.

An early morning incident has closed Highway 97 in Peachland.
Details of the crash are unknown at this time, but the road remains closed at one of the main intersections in the central Okanagan community.
DriveBC first reported the incident around 4:45 a.m. on Princeton Avenue.
It is not known if anyone was seriously injured in the incident, which cut off the highway in both directions.
No diversion is available and an evaluation of the scene is underway, reports DriveBC.
