Images from the doorbell camera have captured the moment a stranger alerted a family that their home was on fire.
American couple Josh Ellis and Brittany Downing did not know their garage was engulfed in flames, when Moss Strong knocked on their door to alert them of the fire.
“I’m so sorry, your garage is on fire,” Strong said in the notable ringing images.

Strong is being praised for saving the life of the family he didn’t know.
Ellis said he was unaware of the fire until they knocked on the door.
“The kids were sleeping. She and I were lying in bed watching Stranger Things,” she said.
“My fiancé looked at me and said ‘what’s that smell?’
“That’s when the door rang … simultaneously.

“Because we smelled this and someone knocked, we knew instantly … panic mode, something is happening because someone is knocking on the door.”
Strong detected the fire less than two miles away as he drove and followed the flames all the way to the house.
“It was a really surreal vision,” he said.
“When I got there, I was very surprised that there was still no one outside.
“My first thought was ‘what the hell?’ then I panicked and ran out of my car.

Strong said he took action and asked his roommate to call 911.

Downing said he acted on instinct and ran down the aisle toward his children.
“I knew the kids were sleeping, so I ran down the hall, hitting the first two,” he said.
“I said ‘lucky house, the house is on fire, the house is on fire!’
Ellis and Downing said they are grateful for the support they received after the incident.
