The stock market was falling on Tuesday after Walmart warned that inflation would hurt its earnings as consumers’ spending habits changed.
By midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 214 points, or 0.7%, while the S&P 500 was down 1.2% and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.9%.
