Guelph police remind drivers not to rely on other drivers to tell them it’s safe to enter a roadway on the roof and a person taken to hospital.
The incident happened around 4:20 p.m. in the Edinburgh Road North and Woodlawn Road West area, according to a police press release.
A driver of a car wanted to enter the road from a private road and another motorcyclist did it with his hand. However, the path was not clear.
When the car entered the roadway, it collided with an SUV, which overturned and crashed into the roof.
The driver of the SUV was helped out of the vehicle by witnesses and later taken to hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the car, a 32-year-old Guelph man, was charged with failing to drive from a private driveway under the Traffic Act.
