The image was posted on the Twitter account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with a message: “Happy Father’s Day to parents and grandparents around the world today!”
The photo shows a smiling Prince William dressed in an olive-colored casual shirt and khaki shorts on a rocky, deserted background.
William’s arms are wrapped around his eldest son, Prince George, dressed in a camouflage print T-shirt, and Princess Charlotte, who is wearing a blue and white plaid dress.
The youngest, Prince Louis, is seen on his father’s shoulders wearing a white and navy blue striped T-shirt.
Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, shared a similar family photo in 2021 for their official Christmas card, showing a rocky backdrop and similar costumes.
William’s father, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, also shared Father’s Day photos on Sunday on Twitter. A photo was of Prince Charles with his late father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Another photo was of Charles sitting on the grass next to his two sons, William and Prince Harry, when they were younger. The whole family gathered for the Queen’s Birthday Parade in London in early June. Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, watched the Trooping the Color event with other members of the royal family from the Major General’s office near the Horse Guards parade, a spokesman for the couple told CNN.
But Harry and Meghan did not join other members of the royal family for the traditional appearance on the balcony after the parade; the queen decided last month that only members of the royal family who would perform official duties would be included.
