An elderly man from Edmonton who was seriously injured when he was pushed onto the LRT tracks in late April is suing the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton traffic system.
The statement of claim, filed on June 17, also cites two unknown employees (hired or hired by the City Council or ETS) in the lawsuit.
Sharda Devi Naidu, 78, was pushed to the tracks from the Health Sciences / Jubilee LRT platform on April 25.

Naidu spoke to Global News on the phone from her hospital bed in May when she was being treated after breaking her leg.
“I shouted for help. Then I saw the train coming. [I was there for a long time]… I thought ‘I’m done’. But luckily the train stopped. “
She used the LRT to get back and forth from her shift at the University of Alberta Hospital, where she works as a janitor.
