It’s been a while, but now it’s the end of the road for Android Auto on phone screens. As reported by 9to5Google, the Android Auto app for smartphones is no longer available for any version of the Android operating system. If you have the Android Auto app installed and are trying to run it on your smartphone screen, you’ll see a message stating that the app is “now only available for car screens” while you show how to connect your phone to your compatible Android Auto. .

It’s been a long time since Google first announced more than three years ago that it would no longer update the Android Auto app. However, it took a while to close the mobile app.

If your car doesn’t support Android Auto, you can still use the Google Assistant driving mode on your smartphone. It offers many of the same features as Android Auto for phones, although it is certainly not a complete replacement.
