The entire suite of new Galaxy products is up for pre-order starting Wednesday, and we’re still checking to see if any of them are selling out. So far, there’s not much outside of a single exclusive color of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 online, while the Fold 4 and both Galaxy Watch 5s are still up for grabs with launch day delivery on the 26th august
The first color of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to sell out is the “Navy” color. The pre-configured version with the navy is now shown as “sold out”, also if you try to use the Bespoke tool to capture a Flip 4 fully in the navy, it will show as sold out there as well. Interestingly, if you use the custom tool on a Flip 4 and just put the navy as a single panel, you get an estimate of 3-4 weeks.
The only other item with even a slight delay is the burgundy Fold 4, but that seems to be sticking to the advertised 3-4 week delivery. Actually, I wouldn’t consider it a big delay.
Whatever the case here, I have to admit I’m surprised more of the new Samsung devices aren’t out of stock or with extended shipping times. As of now, the four main colors of the Flip 4 will arrive on time (see here), as will the three main colors of the Fold 4 (see here) and the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro in all configurations (see here ).
Compare this release to the Galaxy S22 in early 2022 and they couldn’t have hit any differently. Samsung’s dates for online-exclusive colors of the S22 Ultra started dropping almost immediately, something we know firsthand due to Tim’s struggles to get his hands on one. Within a week, the dates moved further with estimates of a full month or even later.
We’ll be keeping an eye on shipping times over the next week to see how this release changes. Will the situation begin to match the launch of the Galaxy S22 or are the minor improvements to the foldable line this year not enough to get people to bite? From my first few days with the Flip 4, I can tell you that the phone looks a lot like the Flip 3, but that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying it.
