It’s officially Friday, June 24 in New Zealand and Australia, which means it’s the launch day of the 13-inch MacBook Pro M2. Customers in New Zealand and Australia are always the first to get their hands on new devices due to time zone differences, and Macs M2 are no exception.
MacBook Pro M2 models are starting to reach customers who booked the machine last Friday, and new MacBook Pro owners will soon share their experiences with the updated M2 chip on MacRumors, Twitter and other social media forums.
New Zealand does not have an Apple Store, so customers in Australia will be the first to be able to pick up a MacBook Pro M2. Stock in Australia will give us an idea of what we might expect from other stores around the world. A spot check shows MacBook Pro M2 models available for purchase in several Australian stores, but custom configurations with updated unified memory and SSDs are unlikely to be available in stores.
After New Zealand and Australia, sales of the MacBook Pro will begin in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and then North America.
The 13-inch BookM2 MacBook Pro features the same design as the previous-generation model, and the M2 chip is the only upgrade. The M2 chip includes the same 8-core CPU as the M1, but with an upgraded nine or 10-core GPU.
