2022 will be a great year for Star Wars fans. The year began with the most beloved bounty hunters in the galaxy leading the action in The Book of Boba Fett. As the year progresses, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will return for Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandalorian will return for its third season, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will receive a prequel in the form of Star Wars: Andor. Right now, Andor feels like the least known series, but that has changed this week.
During this year’s Star Wars celebration, Lucasfilm and Disney took a first look at Andor, showing the main character of Diego Luna in their solo television series. Take a look up!
The new series sees Diego Luna reprise his role as Captain Cassian Andor, who was one of the main characters in Rogue One, sacrificing his life to give the Rebellion a chance to take down the Death Star. Andor is unique in that we already know the fate of his main character, but this approach to storytelling is an element of the series that Luna loved dearly when it was signed.
“I think it’s very interesting to tell a story even though we know where it ends,” Luna told THR. “The way you approach a story like this inevitably leads you to a deeper process of reflection. I tend to use that word a lot. So once you know what Cassian is capable of, there’s room for so much exploration, and “That’s one thing. I’m very excited as an actor. I think the format of a series is amazing because we have a lot of time to explore all these layers.”
“What ‘s happening in Rogue One is something we can really think about and what’ s behind something like that [sacrificing an informant]. I think it’s a very interesting challenge, what we have in front of us, “he continued.” So I’m very excited to return to this character because I really enjoyed playing him, and I was very happy with the film. represents. Rogue One was a story of normal people. They were normal people doing amazing things, and in a way, it’s a movie that reminds us of the power we all have if we have a conviction. So, bottom line is that we’re really looking forward to this opportunity. “
Looking forward to seeing Andor at Disney + later this year? Let us know in the comments!
