The Gold Coast Titans sign Klese Haas on a full-time contract with the NRL

Klese Haas, the younger brother of Brisbane striker Broncos Payne, will be a full-time NRL player from November 1.

Klese Haas, the younger brother of Brisbane Broncos Payne demolition ball, will join the Gold Coast Titans full-time on a two-year contract starting in 2023.

Klese, 19, has signed a training and testing contract with the Titans, but has yet to make his NRL debut.

He participated in the Titans’ NRL trial against the Broncos, but missed the opportunity to face his older brother, who was not named for the match.

A graduate of the Gold Coast Keebra Park High School rugby league nursery, Klese has since impressed the Titans’ technical staff by playing Tweed in the QRL U-21 competition.

Earlier in the season, he scored a hat-trick against Burleigh.

Unlike his older brother, Klese plays advantageously in the second row or center and will be welcomed to the Titans full-time team with open arms by head coach Justin Holbrook.

“Klese is an exciting Gold Coast junior who has been impressive during his recent training and testing period here at the Titans,” Holbrook said.

“He has great ethics and is constantly working hard to improve his game.

“He has an elegant set of feet and skills, and we are very excited for him to join the club starting next season, especially as a local Gold Coast kid who has progressed through our Future Titans route program.”

Klese is not the only younger brother of an Origin star who is making his way through the Titans system.

Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, brother of club captain Tino, joined the Titans for his first LNR preseason this year and plays in the Queensland Cup.
