The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat were the two teams that were initially reported to be on Kevin Durant’s wish list while looking for a change from the Brooklyn Nets. These two teams might be more motivated than most to offer a strong package to Durant given their preference to finish there, but other teams could put together a more attractive package and convince Durant to play happily there.
“I think a team that is hiding and will be hiding in this is Toronto,” Adrian Wojnarowski said. “They have all kinds of pieces you would like and their choices to make a deal for Kevin Durant. And they have an organization, a leader in Masai Ujiri, that you certainly … saw the opportunity he had in Kawhi Leonard with one year left for his business …
“How far are the Raptors willing to go with an offer in Brooklyn? Would they offer Scottie Barnes? I think this is a player that Toronto, under almost no circumstances, would not like to part with, but have him on their roster. … Pascal Siakam, all the other talented players, contracts that could match.
“I think you’re still looking at Toronto to see how they can get involved for Kevin Durant.”
