It’s Thursday, everyone, and you know what that means. That’s right, tomorrow is Friday. However, before we worry about the future, let’s focus on the present, because the present is quite exciting. Sony has just released a new firmware update for PS5 and you can download and install it right now.

It’s a little over 1GB in size, and believe me, there are more things to improve system performance. Here is Sony’s official word:

  • If you use a TV that supports ALLM (automatic low latency mode), you can set the ALLM settings to “Settings”> “Display and video”> “Video output”> “ALLM”.
    • If you select “Automatic”, your TV will automatically switch to low latency mode while you play.
    • If you select “Off”, ALLM will not be enabled except during VRR (variable refresh rate) output.
  • This system software update improves system performance.

So if your TV has ALLM, you can set it to automatically recognize your PS5 and apply it when you play a game. If you’re not sure if your TV supports ALLM, an easy way to find out is by browsing your console settings and trying to select Automatic. If it works, you have ALLM, and if not, the PS5 will tell you, just like VRR.

That has given some flavor to things, right? Will you use this new feature in the latest PS5 firmware update? Let us know in the comments section below.
