Technoblade, one of YouTube’s leading creators specializing in Minecraft playback videos, has died a year after it revealed a cancer diagnosis, according to a statement from his family. He was 23 years old.
In an emotional YouTube video shared on the Technoblade channel on Thursday (Friday AEST), the YouTuber’s father announced that his son was dead.
“He was the most amazing kid anyone could ask for,” his father said.

“I miss Technoblade.”
The final video, titled “so long nerds,” included a posthumous audio message from the creator.
“Hi everyone, Technoblade here. If you’re watching this, I’m dead,” Technoblade said, revealing that his real name is Alex.
“Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had a hundred more lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again and again, as those were the happiest years of my life.”
In the Technoblade online store, a message says, “In honor of your memory, a portion of the proceeds from all online orders will be donated to a wonderful organization called curesarcoma.org,” which links to the Sarcoma Foundation of America .
Technoblade, whose online avatar was a crowned king pig, has 10.8 million subscribers to its YouTube channel.
“I play video games too much. I may not be the best, but I have hot elbows,” says his YouTube biography.
A statement at the end of the video shared on Thursday said: “We, the Technoblade family, wanted you all to know how much you loved and respected your fans and colleagues.
From the early days of Technoblade online, he was always crafting strategies to delight and reward his audience.

Even after his eventual successes, he somehow managed to maintain his kind humility, competing with an endearing balance between his confidence and self-criticism.
He avoided personal fame and worked hard to keep his true identity confidential, and we ask that you honor his wishes to protect his privacy and that of his family. “
“This past year has had many difficult times for our son as he battled stage four cancer,” the statement continued.
“But he didn’t complain and kept using his famous strategic mind to try to beat what he knew were almost impossible odds.
“My son’s courage on this path was a brilliant lesson for all of us who had the privilege of walking with him.

“Thank you for sharing your journey through all of this, as you did the job you loved for your dear fans.”
According to his father, Technoblade wrote his final message to fans about eight hours before he died.
“I don’t think he said everything he meant, but I think he got the main points,” his father said.
Technoblade revealed his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021, explaining that he began to feel pain in his right arm in July, initially thinking it was a repetitive stress injury from the game.
But after a few days, he noticed that his shoulder was swollen and he thought a bone had broken, so he went to the hospital and was later diagnosed with cancer.
