The vandals have removed another bollard from the Low Traffic District (LTN), and the council said its replacement entails a “significant cost to the taxpayer”.
A Low Traffic Neighborhood is an area where traffic is impeded and instead of cars people can only walk, ride a bike or go around the area in a wheelchair.
LTNs prevent people from outside the area from circulating through the neighborhood by using “traffic filters,” which can be planters or pylons.

The bollard has been left out
In recent months, anti-LTN vandals have removed, damaged and even set fire to traffic filters in Cowley and East Oxford.
The most recent hooligan act has seen the Littlemore Road bollard, Church Cowley completely removed and now nowhere to be found.

A shared image on Oxford’s Bollards Down Twitter page, documenting the various acts of vandalism in Oxford’s LTNs, shows the missing pylon in action.
Another image, also shared with the Oxford Mail, shows the empty support of the pylon surrounded by a plaster core.
This is not the first act of vandalism against the LTNS
The county council, as said earlier, vandalism has cost the council more than £ 12,000 to replace and repair the bollards.
An Oxfordshire County Council spokesman said: “Damage to road infrastructure is obviously something we take very seriously as it poses a significant safety risk to all road users.
“We continue to monitor incidents of damage to traffic filters in low – traffic (LTN) areas and replace any damaged bollards (including Littlemore Road), signage and planters, each at significant cost to the taxpayer. ”
