Two accidents on the M25 motorway today (Thursday 16 June) near Godstone and Chertsey respectively have caused congestion. The first accident happened after junction 6 and the second after junction 11, which left the queue until junction 13 near Staines.
Travel monitoring site Inrix reported the second crash: “Traffic in the queue due to an accident, now on the curb of the M25 counterclockwise after the J11 A320 St Peters Way (Chertsey). Congestion at J13 Staines, after M3.
“Spectators in the clockwise direction are added to the tails of J9 Leatherhead. All lanes have been reopened. After a brief hold to move vehicles.”

The crash occurred after a previous crash on the M25 at junction 6 near Godstone that closed a lane. Earlier, a police incident on the M25 had blocked both directions.
National Highways reports that normal traffic should resume around 2:45 p.m. this afternoon and advises an additional 10-minute travel time.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. SurreyLive contacted the emergency services for comment.
