The main hints for the name of the Apple AR headset have been left

It looks like we’ve received a major hint about the name of the upcoming Apple AR and VR headset, courtesy of a batch of trademarked apps.

As spotted by Bloomberg reporter and trusted Apple insider Mark Gurman, a series of trademark filings suggest that Apple is looking to focus on the word “Reality” with its next major product category.

“Reality One”, “Reality Pro” and “Reality Processor” have been detected in applications filed in several countries, including the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia , Costa Rica and Uruguay.

Apple is not directly associated with these trademark filings, with a company called Immersive Health Solutions LLC registering the trademarks. This is not unusual, however, as the secretive tech giant routinely uses law firms and interpreting corporations to perform this procedural work on its behalf.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Apple plans to lead with the Reality brand. In May, another trademark filing revealed the name RealityOS, hinting at the name of its mixed reality platform.

In fact, the company that registered this RealityOS name, Corporation Trust Co., is the same company that in turn registered Immersive Health Solutions LLC. This is Apple’s job, simple and not so simple.

Given the timing of the aforementioned RealityOS registration, it was expected that Apple might introduce its AR platform at WWDC 2022 in June, although that obviously didn’t happen.

More recently, reports have claimed that Apple will launch its Reality headset sometime in 2023.
