The man attacked and hit his head in a row outside the corner store

A man was assaulted and injured in the head after a fight outside a corner store.

Merseyside police rushed to Roughwood Drive, Kirkby, around 2.30pm on Tuesday 2 June, following reports of a man with a head injury on the street. Once officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s and the Northwest Ambulance Service rushed him to the hospital.

The attack is believed to have taken place on Gilescroft / Jarrett Road after an altercation at a shop near Roughwood Drive. The man is in stable condition in hospital.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of public order and offensive weapons offenses and another has been arrested on suspicion of arson. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Door-to-door, CCTV and forensic investigations are being conducted in the area.

Detective Inspector Neil Fletcher said: “The investigation is in its infancy as we work to reconstruct what happened. I would ask anyone who was in the Roughwood Drive area around 2:30 p.m. today to have seen or heard something or can help. our research in any way to contact us “.
