The Mega Drive Mini 2 opens in Japan this October.

Following the success of the first Mega Drive Mini, Sega has announced the Mega Drive Mini 2 which will also include Mega CD games.
It was inevitable that Sega would continue with its Mega Drive Mini with an updated version, mainly due to the huge catalog of games at its disposal, but also to cater for Mega CD releases.
The Mega Drive Mini 2 will include 50 new games and will also include a variety of mainly cosmetic accessories. That is, the base and the Mega CD player, although unfortunately they do not work.
The current list of games currently being announced is as follows:
Cartridge titles
- Bonanza Bros.
- Fantasy area
- Magic fable-kun
- Bright in the dark
- Thunder Force IV
- Virtua Racing
Mega CD titles
- Mansion of hidden souls
- Mail full
- Shining Force CD
- Silpheed
- Sonic the Hedgehog CD
The main console Mega Drive Mini 2 will cost 10,978 yen (or about $ 84) and will be launched in Japan on October 27. The Mega Drive Tower Mini 2 cosmetic accessory will cost 4,950 yen (or about $ 38) and will be launched on the same day.
While it’s currently just Japan’s launch, like the first Mega Drive Mini, I hope it comes west not long after its Japanese launch.
