The Motorola Razr 2022 is only launching in China, but we want it too

Motorola is finally updating its foldable Razr, but only in China. The Razr 2022 offers a larger main screen, an extra camera and Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. There’s also a new Flex View mode so you can open the screen halfway and use the hands free phone. Reminds us of another flip phone…

The Razr 2022 features an updated 50-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization in addition to a new 13-megapixel ultra-wide. The main display is a 6.7-inch OLED with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It beats the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with a larger 2.7-inch cover display, while the Flip is a much smaller 1.9-inch, making it a screen at a glance. At 2.7 inches, the Razr’s screen can offer much more, including a full notification interface.

It’s a shame the Razr 2022 doesn’t have a wider version because it seems to improve some of our issues with the Razr 2020, including the price. The Razr 2022 starts at 5,999 Yuan, which is about $900 USD. That’s about $100 cheaper than the Z Flip 4 and much less expensive than the $1,399 Razr 2020. For now, foldables in the US are still a game of one.
