I haven’t played Vampire Survivors much, but I know that moving, dodging enemies, and running are key parts of the game. So it’s a little weird that the newest secret character from the surprise hit, just added to its latest beta update, is a fruit tree that doesn’t move. But don’t be fooled: this tree is surprisingly good at killing shit.
The popular Castlevania-inspired retro shoot’em up, Vampire Survivors, has received a beta update on Steam. Anyone can join the public beta branch of the game to get a taste of upcoming features and changes, such as the latest update to the success of the indie game, 0.7.3. This update adds new weapons, arcana and some characters.
One of these new playable survivors is … * double check notes * eh … a tree. It is not just any tree, but a magical tree that bears beautiful fruit.
The real name of the tree is Peppino and, like real life trees, it does not move. However, unlike real life trees (at least in my forest neck), Peppino is able to use spells, abilities, and items to fight waves of enemies. It also has the ability to suck nearby gems when they fall. What all this means is that the tree stays motionless in the middle of the map surrounded by a large circular aura that kills most things when they get too close.
Before you can play as this new secret tree, you will need to unlock it. To do this, you must first “Use Celestial Dusting to cure Il Molise plants for a total of 100,000 HP.” If you don’t know what this means or how to do it, hello! – Don’t worry, as people online are already uploading easy-to-follow tutorials that will guide you through the process. It looks like it’s a dog. Interesting!
If you haven’t tried Vampire Survivors yet, the game has recently hit Game Pass. It only costs $ 3 on Steam, but saving money is saving money. I understand.
