The new trailer for The Sandman reveals the release date of Netflix

On Monday, during its Geeked Week presentation, Netflix released a new trailer for its upcoming series The Sandman, along with the fact that it will be released on August 5th. Along with the recently revealed release date and trailer, Sandman’s panel also unveiled a new cast member: Mark Hamill. Hamill will give the voice to Dream goalkeeper Mervyn Pumpkinhead.

The streaming series is adapted from the graphic novels of the same name, written by Neil Gaiman from 1993. The Sandman follows Dream, a creature also called Morpheus and is the king of dreams. In this world, Dream is one of seven powerful and infinite beings who embody concepts such as death, destiny, despair, and desire.

The huge cast of The Sandman includes Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne. The series also includes Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, David Thewlis as John Dee, Stephen Fry as Gilbert and Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven.
