Two cyclists have been identified who were run over and killed on Walpole Island on Wednesday morning.
Lambton OPP said Michelle White, 36, and Gretta Williams, 50, both of the First Nation, were hit before 5 a.m. on River Road and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Cst. Jamie Bydeley said the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A stretch of River Road between Firehall Road and Austin Road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
