Parts of several roads in the Edmonton area will close next week as part of a series of road cuts during Pope Francis’ visit to the Edmonton area.

The Pope will be in the Edmonton area from early Sunday morning to early Wednesday, including a trip south to Maskwacis and northwest to Lac Ste. Anne.

“Travelers should be aware of these temporary road restrictions and plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays,” Shane Schreiber, deputy deputy minister of the Alberta government, said during a technical briefing with reporters last week. .

The rolling closures will be made before and after the passage of the Pope’s caravan.
