The RCMP is investigating a fatal collision near Camrose, Alta.
Camrose’s RCMP was at the scene of the collision Wednesday morning. It passed on Highway 21 between Township Road 470 and Township Road 474, northwest of Camrose.
In a press release just before 11 a.m., police said two-way traffic on Highway 21 was being diverted.
The RCMP hopes to be in place for several hours.
It is not known how many people or vehicles were involved in the accident.

“Details about the people and vehicles involved will not be released until their relatives have been notified,” Camrose’s RCMP said in the press release.
Lindsay Faulkner, who operates Holeshot Engine Works along Highway 21 in the area, said she did not see the collision, but added that there appear to be several vehicles involved in the crash.

“There’s a tandem dump truck that’s been cut off. It looks like it’s heading south on Highway 21 in the ditch. The front end is ripped off. Just north of that, there are three trucks, one is turned toward in the south, it looks like the wheels have been ripped off. The hood and cab are crushed. There are two other damaged trucks that are directly behind that. “
Camrose is about 100 miles southeast of Edmonton.
