One girl could only imagine catching the attention of her favorite singer, but it was a reality for Priscilla Anne Beaulieu when she met “Hound Dog” singer Elvis Presley. The new and young romance suddenly took a turn when Elvis left Germany in 1960. After being chased (pun) by the media to talk about their brief relationship, Priscilla heard rumors about the relationship the singer with actress Nancy Sinatra and thought “I will never talk to Elvis again.
To Priscilla’s surprise, even after returning to the United States, Elvis made sure to keep in touch. Finally, Priscilla’s parents agreed to let her visit The King for two weeks under very strict rules. After a bit of persuasion, these two weeks they became Priscilla moving slowly to the Elvis estate in Memphis, Graceland.
The couple had a rather unconventional marriage.
After years of living in Graceland, maintaining the tumultuous lifestyle of rock stars and rumors of affairs with Hollywood starlets, Elvis proposed marriage to Priscilla just before Christmas 1966. Elvis, 32 , and Priscilla, 22, were married in Las Vegas in May 1967.

Exactly nine months before their wedding day, Priscilla gave birth to the couple’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. According to Priscilla’s book, Elvis and Me, she was not ready for pregnancy. Even during her pregnancy, Priscilla was concerned about the legitimacy of the rumors revolving around Elvis ’affair with Nancy Sinatra. To her surprise, the actress offered to give her a baby shower where it looked like they were getting along well together.

Things took an unexpected turn after Elvis asked for a court hearing in which she replied, “You got it. Just say when I have to leave.” Two months later, Priscilla gave birth to Lisa Marie.
While filming Live a Little, Love a Little in 1968, Elvis left for an extended period and Priscilla decided to take private dance classes. He began a brief affair with his instructor, and in his book he admitted his remorse, saying, “I came out of it realizing that I needed much more from my relationship with Elvis.”
From the fans ’perspective, the couple’s marriage seemed happy, but as Elvis’ career continued to increase (although their health continued to decline), Priscilla and Lisa were left alone in Graceland. After countless rumors with their starring partners, the two decided to divorce in 1973.
