NASA’s Artemis I returns to the vehicle assembly building at the Kennedy Space Center.
At around 2:30 pm ET on July 2, NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft for the Artemis I mission were securely secured inside the vehicle assembly building. (VAB) at the Kennedy Space Center after a four-mile run since launch. block 39B which started at 4:12 am ET on Saturday July 2nd.
Over the next few days, the team will expand work platforms to allow access to SLS and Orion. In the coming weeks, teams will replace a seal on the quick disconnect from the umbilical tail service pole and perform additional checks and activities before returning to the platform for launch.
