Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones are back on tour and have released a live version of one of their classic hits to the delight of fans.
You can’t always get what you want, but Rolling Stones fans only get what they need.
The iconic English band launched their 60th anniversary European tour in Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Arena where they resurrected their old hit “Out of Time” from the Tomb of Music.
The song was recorded in 1966, but was never played live. The single was later added to the British version of the Stones’ “Aftermath” album.
“Out of Time” was covered by singer Chris Farlowe that same year, in an edition produced by leader Mick Jagger.
After the group’s first stop, they will make their way to 14 more cities on their euro tour.
Band members Jagger, 78, Keith Richards, 78, and Ronnie Wood, 75, launched the No Filter tour in 2017 in Germany and played 16 dates in the United States in 2019, but their northern stage -americana was suspended for 16 months due to the coronavirus pandemic. .
They resumed touring in September last year. “We are delighted to be able to announce the rescheduled dates for the Rolling Stones 2020 US tour, which will now take place this fall!” the band said in July 2021. “We want to thank you all for your patience during this difficult and unprecedented time.”
Stones drummer Charlie Watts died in August at the age of 80. The band paid tribute to their late friend at a show in St. Louis. Louis’ the Dome at America’s Center.
The trio reported in the Los Angeles Times last October that Watts recorded new music before he died.
“If it hadn’t all closed, maybe we’d have finished the damn (album),” Richards said.
Jagger added: “We have a lot of tracks done, so when the tour is over, we’ll evaluate where we are with that and move on.”
“Let me put it this way,” Richards said. “You haven’t heard the latest from Charlie Watts.”
