The monarch is just days away from a festive weekend that marks her historic 70-year reign. Royal historian Hugo Vickers said that if he were in charge of the celebrations, he would arrange for the queen to go out on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as the final after the jubilee pageant with Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George. .
Vickers said an image of the queen and the three future kings “would go down in history.”
When asked what would be the highlight of the platinum jubilee, the royal historian told Express.co.uk: “I suspect any photograph appears at the end of the pageant when it is on the balcony.
“I don’t know, but if I was organizing things, I would have her there with Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George, just have four of them there.
“I think this would probably be the picture that will go down in history. But this is a really historic occasion.”
Vickers added that the 96-year-old head of state, who has recently suffered from mobility issues, will attend as many events as he can during the four-day weekend.
He said: “My prediction is that he will try to reach the thanksgiving service, this is very important in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
“I’m sure she’ll be out on the balcony after the pageant. There’s no way they can make her sit down because of all this, you can see it on TV.
“Trooping the Color, I’m sure she’ll be on the balcony. She’s probably being talked about at the parade.
“I think he also wants to light the lighthouse in the evening.
“So I’m sure he’ll do what he can at 96.”
