One person is confirmed dead after the RCMP responded to a shooting in Langham, Sask.
The Saskatchewan RCMP issued an emergency alert for a dangerous person on Friday after a shooting in Langham.
Langham is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Saskatoon.
People in the area were asked to find shelter and close the doors.
Shortly after 11 a.m., Corman Park police posted on social media that the suspect had been located and that there was no threat to the public.
The RCMP announced on Friday at 12:15 pm that the alert was canceled.
Police believe there is no further risk to public safety and the existing shelter has also been canceled.
The suspect has been identified as Justin Heimbecker. It is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall and brown eyes.

“Everyone here is wondering what’s going on,” Langham Coun said. Carol Epp, in an interview with the Canadian press.
He said area residents received an alert on their phones to take refuge in his place. Saskatchewan issued the emergency alert at 7:40 p.m.
“We did not leave the house. We see flashing lights and police cars going back and forth, “he said.” I just hope everyone is fine. “
Ted Slawinski, a business owner in Langham, said that before he left town, he didn’t even know about the shooting.

“The area of the city where I worked this morning was pretty quiet,” he said in an interview with Global News. “But once I got out of town it was when things got a little weird. The police stopped me and asked me to search my vehicle.”
In a press release, the RCMP said the shooting took place in the community on Friday morning.
