The Star Wars mystery about Darth Vader solved by Obi-Wan Kenobi

The end of Obi-Wan Kenobi was something, as Star Wars fans had an epic showdown between Ewan McGregor’s Jedi and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader, and also solved a long-running mystery in the process.

With the series set in a blind spot in the Skywalker saga, Obi-Wan Kenobi had to be careful not to reclaim the carefully placed canon from the original George Lucas trilogy. The ending put some important seeds for the future of the galaxy and Vader’s own redemptive arc in Return of the Jedi.

A key moment even connected with Return of the Jedi more than you might have noticed at first glance. Going full Joker in The Dark Knight, do you want to hear how he got these scars?

Aside from a certain long-haired Jedi who was filled with ghosts and appeared in Obi-Wan, the big topic of conversation at the end was the lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan and Vader.

While it wasn’t her firefight in Mustafar, it was arguably more emotional as they faced her on an abandoned planet. Although Vader eventually ended up with his former teacher in A New Hope means we knew neither would die here, the old friends came out limping with some emotional and physical scars.

Eagle-eyed fans have realized that the aftermath of Obi-Wan’s winning blow against Darth Vader at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi can be seen in Return of the Jedi.

Jump forward (or backward) until 1983 and you’ll remember that a reformed Vader saved Luke from Palpatine, throwing the Wax-faced Emperor down a reactor shaft, but receiving a fatal explosion from his Lightning Force.

Anakin and Luke finally had father and son time, and when Luke helped Vader take off his helmet, he had a series of unusual scars. It only took them 39 years to figure out how he got them.

In the end, the exiled Jedi cut the hull of his Padawan and saw the extent of Anakin’s wounds after they let him fry on Mustafar’s surface.

Passing brilliantly between the voices of Christensen and James Earl Jones, Obi-Wan took a creepy look at this new form. Even though his old face was visible, Vader said he had killed Anakin (in a metaphorical sense), which, if he wanted to, could justify Obi-Wan telling Luke in A New Hope that Vader killed Anakin.

Others have observed how the image of Vader’s cut helmet reflects the end of the second season of Star Wars Rebels. The praised “Apprentice Twilight” made Ahsoka Tano face Vader and gave him a similar blow that opened his mask.

The problem is that Obi-Wan’s blow could create a hole potentially the size of a death star in the generally watertight canon of Star Wars.

Most were convinced that the burns Anakin suffered at Mustafar would be consistent with his scars The Return of the Jedi, that is, this was what we have accepted for the past 20 years. Critics have also argued that a close-up of Obi-Wan throwing stones at Anakin suggests that this is what gave him his scars instead of a nasty brush with a lightsaber.

We know that Ahsoka is not responsible for Anakin’s scars because he only managed to break the right side of his helmet. (Vader should have invested in better armor.)

The way the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi stayed in Anakin’s face after Obi-Wan’s blow suggests that we should have thought that this is where the scar on Vader’s head comes from. Of course, you could only take it as a dramatic moment and nothing more if this explanation of the scar has no weight for you.

Obi-Wan Kenobi vowed to fill the gaps between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope to reveal what turned Ewan McGregor’s previously cheerful Jedi into Alec Guinness by putting the old man in Old Ben.

And apparently, there was a lot to give Obi-Wan’s gray hair, with that great duel for the ages that has left everyone with a few scars to bear.
