The truck crashes into a concrete barrier on Highway 7

The driver of a tractor trailer faces several charges after the vehicle hit a concrete barrier on Conestoga Parkway in Kitchener.

Provincial police tweeted that they were called to Highway 7 on Ottawa Street after the vehicle hit a concrete barrier.

They said the truck traveled 12 miles with fallen debris.

Photos released by OPP show damage to the front of the trailer, a section of the demolished concrete barrier, as well as tire marks at the scene.

Police said the driver has been charged with careless driving, failure to remain at the scene of the accident, failure to report an accident, operation of an unsafe vehicle and driving on a closed road.
