Twitter crashed for about an hour Thursday morning, but returned online around 9 a.m. ET. It looks like it’s mainly reconnected, but Twitter said it’s still working to get it working again for everyone.
The crash monitoring site Downdetector reported more than 54,000 bug reports on both the website and the app shortly after 8 a.m. Eastern Time.
According to Downdetector, outage reports came from across the United States and particularly from major cities such as New York and Los Angeles, which records problems reported by users. It also went down in the UK, Mexico, Brazil and Italy, according to Reuters.
The disruption occurs when the company sues Elon Musk, who is trying to withdraw from an offer to acquire Twitter.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
