“For all the weirdness and fun it promises, Biomutant ends up being a deeply conventional open world action game,” Malindy Hetfeld wrote in Eurogamer’s Biomutant review.
Biomutant, developed by the Swedish studio Experiment 101, was released in May last year and moved more than 1 million copies, enough to reach a balance in a week after release despite a long development .
Publisher THQ Nordic bought Experiment 101 in November 2017, collecting Biomutant’s study and intellectual property rights for about £ 6.2 million.
THQ’s Nordic parent company, Embracer, later described Biomutant sales as “in line with management expectations”.
