Police have called for public assistance to identify witnesses to a shocking incident on the road to Sydney in which a gun was fired.
Police are looking for witnesses after a gun was fired during a rage incident on the road south of Sydney.
Police have released pictures of people they want to talk to about the altercation at the intersection of Mill Rd and Charles St in Liverpool on April 17.
At around 3pm, police were alerted that a white Toyota Corolla and a gray Suzuki Baleno were being stopped on the street while the occupants were fighting.
According to a witness, a Toyota man pulled out a firearm during the discussion.
Police allege that the driver and passenger of the Suzuki disarmed the man and confiscated the weapon before returning to his car.
Wild photos released by police appear to show the scene moments after the confiscation of the weapon, with the man dressed in white on the ground and a man in a blue T-shirt holding a black pistol-shaped item.
Police investigations revealed that the Suzuki, last seen traveling on Charles St before turning right onto Atkinson St, was a rental car. He was caught by police after being found abandoned in the parking lot of a Prestons hotel at 6pm the same day.
Police launched Strike Force Warrawillan after a pedestrian reported the rabies incident on the road. Investigators have released images of four people who were seen in the area at the time of the incident and who may be able to help with their investigations.
